ReHab ReUse
December 2018
During the project 'ReHab ReUse' I began to understand the amount of work that goes into reconfiguring an existing space to fit the needs of a new function. Our site, the crypt of Marylebone Church in Westminster, London, is a dark space with little to no natural light, hidden away from the main body of the church down a small, winding staircase.
After surveying the space and the surrounding area, I realised upon the idea to transform the abandoned crypt into an Art Therapy Centre for the Blind, and achieved this through the use of materials to manipulate sound and light, and redesigning the floor plan of the space to be fit for purpose.
